Feeling Better

Image
Well, two days after a very productive counseling session, and I must say I am definitely feeling better. Mood swings have stopped, I'm dealing with the bumps in the road appropriately, and I'm sleeping much better. So. What's next? ;) I've been noodling on the new recorder a little, realizing how much I've forgotten in thirteen years. I'm also on the verge of buying a new pennywhistle. I'm kind of shocked at how much they (as everything else) have gone up in price in the last thirteen years. For example, about 15 years ago I bought a low-D whistle for thirty-five bucks. They're now running around $200. Yikes. Even the cheap plastic ones are near $100. Well as for today I'm waiting for South Street Strings to open, so I can get a set of strings for the poor neglected unused guitar in the shelter's office. Nobody else wants to buy strings, and I want to play, so what the heck. Yeah, I'm just going to wander around today. No plans other tha...

Figgers...

A day or two after cleaning out my Backpack Of Doom, and removing my spare phone charger, my trusty dual charger from Five Below has died. It has joined the choir invisible. It is an ex charger. Hey, five bucks. And something told me to stop by Five Below on the way here to my favorite coffee shop, Cafe Ole. The Jewish Coffee Shop. No shit. For real. On another somewhat similar Philadelphia note, I had THE BEST Reuben sandwich I've ever had in Philly today in the Reading Terminal Market, at The Dutch Eating Place. Yup, Pennsylvania Dutch. It was absolutely superb.

Busy

Got credit card and new phone. Paid off the college, my last obstacle to going back to school in the fall. Rapidly rebuilding. Not stressed like last year.

Weird weather

It's like an early summer day, mid 70s-ish? Crazy. Can't beat it, but wonder what's coming up next... BTW not sick anymore. 24 hour bug I guess.

Sick...

Please copy and paste this to your status...

Please copy and paste this to your status if you're constantly being asked to copy and paste things to your status by people who copy and paste things to their statuses. Many people won't copy and paste this, but my truly sarcastic friends will copy and paste it because they're sarcastic by nature. If you don't copy and paste it, then this means you hate bacon. And if you hate bacon, the government wins, and a unicorn dies. Possibly puppies as well. And occasionally baby goats. But never dragons because of something to do with tomatoes. Please do not murder unicorns!!!

The Foot as it Was

Besides the obvious deformities, can you see what the prison doctors didn't see and made me suffer with for five years?
E A G L E S EAGLES!!!!! (Written last night 2/8) Quite an adventure today. I got caught up in the crowd this morning on my way to the suburbs. That was exciting and fun! First few trains I tried to catch were packed to the gills, so I walked five blocks to the next open El station where everyone was getting off for the parade. I now know how a salmon must feel swimming upstream! From that point the train was almost empty. 69th Street terminal was very crowded, but since everyone was heading into the city I had no difficulty. Watched the parade and speeches on TV and spent the day with friends. Dilly dilly!
Super Bowl parade tomorrow. Will I go? Highly doubtful. I have trouble dealing with a crowded subway car sometimes. Everything in Center City is closed, as is the Perimeter, and they're doing maintenance in the shelter tomorrow, so where will I spend the day?
